It is swimming back

So it was hard getting motivated when feeling sad about my daughter leaving for University. I am so happy I shared this because your empathy helped tons. I can now say I am back painting in my studio.
I know it is only a little project for a swap but it makes me laugh.
Lottie Meermaid a mermaid, well whatever next?

I adore your mermaid!
Yup! My 22 year old son is 150 miles away at college...Los Angeles...but is doing well. We can be proud of our childrens' focus and fortitude to continue their education.
hugs to you!

Good on you to get back to painting! Just think about all the things you'll be able to show your daughter when she comes home for a visit! And Lottie Meermaid is absolutely adorable!

so cute
i am glad you are enjoying your art
it is hard when our children leave
but as my son said to me "mom, when i feel safe and happy to go out into the world, it means you did a good job". they can be so smart.

There seems to be quite a few of us in Blogland going through the same thing this week with children leaving for Uni. It's nice to hear that we're not alone. :)
I love your cheeky mermaid, she's adorable!

This is fabulous Manon....and trust me, the "desperately missing your uni child" feeling will wear off....usually after about half a term of running backwards and forwards with the stuff they forgot to take lol :D XXX

Oh, well, I think we are connected. I just found your post. I have made a mermaid, too, last week. :)))
