Bitter sweetness

I would like you to meet Wol Baba, a doll I recently sculpted following  instructions and taking inspiration from Marijke van Ooijen.

Marijke van Ooijen is an amazingly talented Dutch doll and bear maker, she recently brought out this super sweet book

Of course I had to have it, seeing I am now officially doll mad.
You can order the book through this link
but it is only published in Dutch right now.

I have fallen madly in love with these super sweet dolls.
So far I have sculpted two and they made wonderful presents for my friends
I guess now I need to give myself a present too!

If you are interested, Marijke teaches doll sculpting classes
in her gorgeous studio in Holland.
I could always translate if you take me!

OMG, Manon, he looks like out of a fairy tale book. As though he jumped out of the page. So cute!

Wow. You're so talented! It's so strange and lovely! I've never made dolls in all my life, the idea seems a bit intimidating to me. Maybe I should give it a go... :)
