Paper Saturdays, time to Link up.

Welcome to another week of Paper Saturdays. You can link your paper art up at the bottom of this post it doesn't necessarily have to be today. You can play all week long there is no rush, you can come back to link up at a later date and then each Saturday I will be back with new stuff, inspirational artists and a new linky for you to play with.

so what is paper artwork.

Sketches, drawings, paintings and collages on paper are all fine. Yes entries in your art journal are great too. Paper dolls, paper houses, paper illustrations, paper jewellery, paper cards, painted paper boxes, you with a paper hat on, paper clay, papermache are all fantastic. Please let your brain run wild, surprise us and share some of your inspirational ideas with us.

You are also allowed to share previous posts. Proud of some of the old stuff right go ahead and link up. I just want you to have a fun time over here. Be kind and visit other participants if you can. Get to know each other. Over the years I have met some great people artists so will you, I will guarantee it!

The stick dolls in this post will be my paper art contribution for this week. Each one is made from paper machee. A medium which is a little harder to work with than paper clay and the end result is a little rougher too but is a much cheaper alternative. So if you don't mind a rougher texture and you don't mind sanding a bit longer you may be interested in this recipe

This weeks featured artist is Jane from Cloth and Clay dolls, some of you may be familiar with her art. Jane has a very popular on line workshop where she teaches how to make the dolls below out of cloth and paper clay. If you are new to doll making and sculpting and wanting to learn you can find her classes at  TheTrodenpath
Now it is time for you to share

ps..you know you#ve got the comment moderation on. Don't know if its me, I think they are getting harder and harder to read.. :(

Love your paper-mache dolls. I used to do a lot of heads made of this stuff with my school class when I was teaching, I'll see if I can find some of the old photos for next week. Valerie

All the papier maché dolls are lovely, but I particularly love the two mums with their children. They are very appealing.
I think I've managed to link this week - fingers crossed.
I agree about the Prove you're not a Robot thingy. It's very difficult to read, especially for those of us with diminishing eyesight.
There seem to be two versions of it, and the newer one that some people have is much clearer and simpler to use, if it is really necessary. Comment moderation seems to work well 99.5 per cent of the time.

Awesome. I'm going to submit. I love your papier-mache stick dolls. They are adorable.

I use this recipe too from Ultimate Paper Mache. Johnnie Good inspires me with all her amazing paper mache creations.

I've found a way to make it very smooth by using power tools to sand it after it's dried. So you could get it very close to looking like porcelain if you took the time.
